Introducing the
Canadian Virtual Health Library Project Team
The Canadian Virtual Health Library
(CVHL) Task Force,
and Jennifer Bayne, the CVHL Project Leader, are pleased to announce the CVHL
project team members who will contribute to building the CVHL.

Jennifer Bayne
Project Leader |
Jennifer Bayne is the CVHL Project Leader. Jennifer draws on a background informed by the theory and practice of knowledge management. Her degrees include a Master of Library Science and a Master of Business Administration. She is a senior leader in the field of knowledge management in Canada with 28 years experience in the health industry, working for major academic health science centres, Canada Health Infoway, the Romanow Commission and the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation at the University of Toronto. She has provided consultancy services to federal and provincial governments, government agencies, teaching hospitals, volunteer organizations, and other consulting firms. Jennifer has taught the Health Sciences Information Resources course at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto for many years and has authored eleven publications, including co-authoring the award-winning paper “Peer Informatics Tutoring for Medical Students: the Toronto Experience” [Bibl Medica Can. 2001. Spring; 22(3):121.–7.] She is a skilled writer and presenter, and is fluent in both official languages.

Wendy Stark

Wendy Stark is bringing her considerable expertise to the development of the CVHL portal. Wendy is an experienced manager and consultant specializing in library and information technology management strategies and has held senior positions in both the academic and government sectors. Wendy’s early work on the CVHL together with her experience working with health and science libraries has provided her with the background needed to fulfill this challenging position. Wendy holds an MLS and Graduate Diploma in Knowledge Management. She lives in Ottawa. |
Vivian Stieda

Vivian Stieda has been seconded from the University of Calgary to lead the content development strategy of the CVHL.
She has been the General Manager for Alberta’s Health Knowledge Network (HKN) since 2001. In this role she has been responsible for procuring health related information for Alberta and Saskatchewan's health, research and academic sectors through a partnership between the Universities of Alberta and Calgary. This role has afforded Vivian the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with the library and publisher communities across Canada, and internationally. Prior to managing the HKN, Vivian managed the development of REHADAT Canada at the National Institute of Disability Management and Research. Vivian lives in Calgary. |
Lisa Nguyen
Project Coordinator |
Lisa Nguyen has joined the CVHL as Project Coordinator. Having spent the majority of her career in the healthcare sector, Lisa understands and has witnessed the need for the CVHL from both a policy and practice standpoint. Lisa's expertise has been gained through project management and program management in the public sector with the Victorian Order of Nurses, as well as private sector consulting. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science and a Project Management certificate. Lisa was involved in the previous transition phase of the CVHL and was instrumental in developing the stakeholder communication tools. Lisa lives in Edmonton. |

Jay O'Neill is developing the business and financial plan for the CVHL. He brings many years of experience in progressively senior roles primarily in the private-sector. His expertise is human resource management, sales management, process engineering and project management. Jay has also lead corporate development initiatives at a Canadian-based health care consulting firm. He has accumulated deep expertise in many areas from knowledge management to finance information systems. Jay is a graduate of the MBA program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and completed his undergraduate studies in organizational development, communications, and political science at York University. Jay works out of Toronto and Calgary.

CVHL is a proposed national network of libraries for
health that will collaborate to deliver services equitably to health
professionals across Canada and to locate and realize efficiencies in
resource sharing and consortial licensing. The project has received $800,000 over three years from the Canadian Institutes of
Health Research.
