In this context, "Rural and Remote" means geographical locations which have insufficient resources - human and/or facilities - to meet the CE needs of the health library community.

The amount of a Rural and Remote Opportunities Grant shall be a maximum of $300.  The Board of Directors will determine the amount of money to be allocated to the Rural and Remote Opportunities Grant for the coming year at each Fall Board Meeting.

The Board of Directors shall form a committee consisting of the Continuing Education (CE) Co-ordinator, Past-President and Treasurer. The committee will review all applications and make grants at its discretion on behalf of the Board.

?Note: the grant may be awarded for direct costs of continuing education opportunities scheduled in conjunction with CHLA/ABSC or MLA conferences, but not for registration and other costs associated with attending those conferences.
