The CHLA/ABSC Board of Directors and the 2021 CHLA Conference Planning Committee (CPC) are pleased to announce that the 2021 conference will be held virtually! Recognizing that the situation in Canada and internationally remain uncertain in terms of COVID-19, the Board and the CPC are committed to offering a fantastic conference experience. We are thrilled to offer a conference that will be more accessible in terms of cost and timing. We look forward to delivering an engaging and enriched conference program filled with professional development, poster presentations, exhibit halls, and a lot of local flair!

  1. What is the conference platform?
    The conference will be using PheedLoop. For an introduction to this platform, see their Virtual Attendee Training.
  2. What is the conference timezone?
    The conference schedule is based on Central Daylight Time (UTC -5). However, your displayed time may vary based on your settings.
  3. How do I create my schedule?
    Once you have registered and logged into the platform, you will have the option to add sessions to your calendar using the "Add to Calendar" link in each session. However, you are not required to do this.
  4. What are the technical requirements for participating?
    We recommend using Chrome on desktop for best results. Firefox is a potential alternative. We recommend against using Internet Explorer.
  5. Are there accommodations for participants with accessibility concerns?
    The conference committee is committed to supporting participants with accessibility concerns. PheedLoop offers a number of customization options for various needs, which can be accessed using the person icon in the top-right of the PheedLoop interface. If you have specific concerns or needs, please contact us.

  9. Is the conference only for members of CHLA/ABSC?
    No, the conference is open to anyone. However, CHLA/ABSC members have a reduced registration rate compared to non-members.
  10. Is my profile private?
    By default the information you provide in your profile will be visible to everyone. You have the option in the My Profile section to hide yourself from networking, although we encourage you to participate as you feel comfortable.
  11. Will the conference sessions be available to watch after the conference is over?
    We anticipate that most of the sessions will be available on-demand for registrants for one month after the conference. Note that some sessions, in particular interactive workshops, will not be recorded.
