There will be two tours offered during CHLA/ABSC 2026. Make sure to sign up ahead of time to secure your spot!
All tours will depart from the Registration Desk located on the 3rd floor in the Hall of the Hotel Le Concorde.
Make sure to wear good walking shoes if you plan to walk over to the tour.
Note: If you have already registered but want to register for any of the tours, select the Register as a guest option and choose the Social Activities option on the registration page.
Old Québec City Guided Tour (bilingual English/French)
Step back in time with a captivating guided tour of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage treasure. Wander through charming cobblestone streets, admire centuries-old architecture, and uncover the stories behind iconic landmarks like the Château Frontenac, Place Royale, and the city’s fortified walls. Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec Self-Guided Tour
Dive into Québec’s Artistic Universe at the MNBAQ. Located just a 15-minute walk from the hotel on the Plains of Abraham, the MNBAQ is a true celebration of Québec’s creative spirit. - Navigating Your First CHLA (Tuesday June 3nd from 6-6:45 PM)
If this is your first time attending CHLA/ABSC, then this event is for you! Come meet and connect with other first-time attendees, chat with CHLA/ABSC board members, and learn about how to make the most of this fantastic conference. Afterwards, make your way over to the official Opening Reception
- Opening Reception (Tuesday June 2nd from 7-9 PM)
Catch up with colleagues you haven’t seen in a while and make new connections as we kick off the conference! Join us in the Suzor-Côté ballroom at 7pm.
- Morning Walk with the president (Wednesday June 3rd at 6:30 AM)
Start your day off beautifully with a morning walk around the Plains of Abraham and Old Québec. The walk is hosted by the newly elected future CHLA President Martine Gagnon, a passionate walker who has lived in Québec City for many years. Enjoy fun stories and anecdotes that accompany the magnificent scenery. The walk leaves from the main entrance of the hotel Le Concorde at 6:30 AM. No registration is required.
- Dine-Arounds (Wednesday June 3rd from 6-9 PM)
CHLA/ABSC will be organizing Dine-Arounds at some of our favourite local eateries. More details and sign-up sheets will be available at the registration desk during the conference.
- Jogging on the Plains of Abraham (Thursday June 4th at 6:30 AM)
Start your day off right with an early-morning running session on the Plains of Abraham and in Old Québec. The session is led by Sabine Calleja, a member of the conference planning committee and a passionate runner. To participate, meet at the main entrance of Hotel Le Concorde at 6:30 a.m. No registration required.
- Closing Banquet (Thursday June 4th at 6 PM)
The CHLA/ABSC Awards Banquet will be held at Hotel Le Concorde. Come ready to enjoy delicious food, sip a glass of wine, reconnect with colleagues, and celebrate our 50th anniversary along with this year’s award winners.
- After party (Thursday June 4th at 9 PM)
After the awards banquet, join us for a lively after-party to celebrate CHLA/ABSC’s 50th anniversary in style! Enjoy music, drinks, and great company in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
